Mesa Verde National Park

This is the largest archaeological preserve in the U.S. and the only U.S. national park devoted entirely to the work of humans.
Directions
Located in southwestern Colorado, 125 miles southeast of Moab. One-hour drive from Cortez, Colorado, heading east on US Hwy 160 to the park turnoff. Mesa Verde is always open, but some of the facilities, tours and access to archeological sites are seasonal. Check the website for park schedules. Visitor center open daily.
Entrance Fees
Mesa Verde Annual Pass $30, good for a year beginning from the date of sale.
Vehicles $10 March 4-May 24, Sept. 4-Dec. 31; $15 May 25-Sept.3, good for 7 days. Individual on bicycle, foot, or motorcycle, $5 March 4-May 24, Sept. 4-Dec. 31; $8 May 25-Sept. 3, good for 7 days.
When planning your 2012 park visit, please be aware of the following projects:
Road work at Mesa Verde is expected during the summer; plan extra travel time within the park. Essential preservation work on Cliff Palace may be required in summer 2012; tour-schedule disruptions are possible.
