Canyoneering

If the beautiful rock walls and canyons are intriguing but rock climbing might be too much for you, try canyoneering.

Canyoneering is the must-do activity while visiting the Moab area. Consisting of a mix of hiking, rappelling, and often swimming, your guide will take you into the depths of incredible water-carved sandstone canyons. (It is often easier to rappel down a canyon’s steep drops than to climb up them.) Even if you have never rappelled before, there is a canyon experience for you.

This activity is suited for people of all ages and abilities, ranging from easy to moderate. Although the sport occasionally requires the use of ropes and basic climbing skills, it is not an extreme sport and involves little risk when practiced correctly. Each canyon has awe-inspiring views that you will have to see to believe.

The guide services located in Moab are well trained and will teach you the technique required to rappel safely
and provide the gear needed for your trip. There is no doubt you will want to make the trip down the canyon again and again. There are half-day or full-day trips, perfect for families, a group of friends or join an existing trip and tick this off of your bucket list.
